Have fun exploring science using milk! You'll need Milk (whole or 2%), a dinner plate, Food coloring (red, yellow, green, blue), dish soap (Dawn brand works well), and cotton swabs to perform this magic trick with your little one. The swirling images in the color is created by the chemistry of the dish soap interacting with the fats and proteins in the solution of the milk, making for a fun, mesmerizing activity that you can do over and over again.

Younger children can safely experiment learning about colors and how colors mix to create new colors, along with bigger siblings that can explore the following links that talk about the chemical bonds and learn some new scientific vocabulary.
