Can you spot the guiro in the photo above? One of our favorite instruments to share during our classes is the guiro! We want you to be able to enjoy the sounds of the guiro at home too. Make Your Own Guiro Musical Instrument
Turn an empty water bottle into a "green" guiro!
You Need:
An empty ridged water bottle
A stick, chopstick, spoon or pencil
Embellishments: stickers, glitter glue, ribbon
Sand and/or water: optional—to change the tone of the instrument
How to do it:
Rehydrate!
Place the cap back on the bottle.
Decorate the instrument with stickers and glitter. Tie a ribbon around the neck of the bottle to give it a little flair.
Slide a stick or chopstick, spoon or pencil on the bottle ridges.
Adjust the tone of the instrument by filling it with water or sand.
Play your instrument and have fun!
